ALAN A. BOUWKAMP was a partner of Becker Bouwkamp Walker, PC, who transitioned to an “Of Counsel” role with the firm at the end of 2024. He practiced in the areas of family law and general litigation, appeared extensively before trial courts throughout Indiana and the Indiana Court of Appeals, and has argued before the Indiana Supreme Court.

Alan has lectured on issues such as life after divorce, child custody and shared parenting, child abuse, and general family law.

Alan received his BA from Indiana University in 1984 and his Juris Doctorate, cum laude, from Indiana University School of Law-Indianapolis in 1990. He held an AV Preeminent® rating through Martindale-Hubbell® for more than 16 years, was recognized as an Indiana Super Lawyer from 2020-2026, and is a Distinguished Fellow of the Indianapolis Bar Foundation. He is a member of the Indiana State, Hamilton County, and Indianapolis Bar Associations and serves on Grievance Committee B of the Indianapolis Bar Association.

Alan serves on the Board of Directors of the Rehabilitation Hospital of Indiana Sports Program and on the Board of Trustees of the Fortune Academy, a school for children with language-based disabilities.
