CARL J. BECKER is a founding partner of Becker Bouwkamp Walker, PC, where he has practiced since 2002 guiding clients through family law matters of every kind while building one of Indiana’s leading practices in manufactured housing law.
Carl practices in all areas of domestic relations and family law including dissolution of marriage, paternity, custody, support, property settlement, and guardianship. He has lectured on many family law issues including child custody and support, property settlement, mediation and alternative dispute resolution techniques.
In addition to his family law practice, Carl is recognized for his extensive Manufactured Housing Law experience. He advises community owners and operators on issues such as acquisitions and sales, leasing, contracts, zoning and utility issues, and landlord/tenant disputes. Additionally, Carl provides general business legal advice and litigation services.
Carl earned his BS in Accountancy, with high honors, and his Juris Doctorate, cum laude, from the University of Illinois. His professional excellence has been recognized through numerous honors, including being named one of Forbes.com “10 Best Divorce Lawyers in Indianapolis” for 2024 and selection as an Indiana Super Lawyer each year since 2019. Carl is a Distinguished Life Fellow of the Indianapolis Bar Foundation and was honored as Citizen of the Year by the Indiana Manufactured Housing Association.
He is a Registered Domestic Relations Mediator and a trained arbitrator. He has served on the Indianapolis Bar Association’s Impact Fund Committee and Executive Committee for the Solo & Small Firm Division. He is a member of the Hamilton County and Indianapolis Bar Associations.
