WENDY KAUFMAN is a partner at Becker Bouwkamp Walker, PC, where she focuses her practice on family law. Wendy began her career in estate planning, wealth transfer, and life insurance. Her move to family law came after her own contentious divorce in 2011, and it left her with a conviction that shapes her work today: divorce can be accomplished in a more civil, cost-effective way.
Her practice reflects a dedication to alternative dispute resolution, helping clients craft unique dissolutions focused on the needs of each individual family she serves. She is a Registered Domestic Relations Mediator, a Guardian Ad Litem (GAL), and a trained collaborative practitioner.
Wendy received her BS from Indiana University in 1989 and her Juris Doctorate from the IU Robert H. McKinney School of Law in December 1991, and was sworn into the Bar in June 1992. She has been recognized as an Indiana Super Lawyer each year since 2022, and is a member of the Indiana State, Hamilton County, and Indianapolis Bar Associations. She was the founding president of Women for Riley and has served in numerous volunteer leadership capacities across central Indiana.
Wendy is married to her husband, Dave, and is the proud mother of four adult children and two stepsons. Her hobbies include reading, baking, cooking, and binge-watching medical shows.
